In Mexico, about 80% of the population lives in cities. Urban centers are engines of economic growth for the country and pockets of opportunities for mexicans. However, cities in Mexico, like many other cities in Latin America, also mean poverty and exclusion.

To live in community already is urban, for this reason, we need to think and to act to improve the fluency of our cities and the well-being of all. sustainable city is one in which they all could satisfy his fundamental needs, and that they could enjoy fair share of the wealth, economic and cultural diversity of the urban areas.

¿How does Ethos Laboratory of Public Policies contributes in this topic?

URBAN DEVELOPMENT

In Ethos  Laboratory of Public Policies  we are convinced of the importance of cities for Mexico growth. We believe that urban centers have the power to influence the quality of life of the population, and that the role of governements is of infuse the spaces created by the model of society towards which we are going.

The appropriate authorities tend to leave the city to grow organically, without having a vision of which kind of society  we want to get creating urban space.

How to build a sustainable model which provides a decent quality of life to all urban residents?

Through research and proposals on cities and their development, Ethos Laboratory of Public Policies  aims to contribute to a reflection on the cities of Mexico, introducing this concept into the nationa agenda, the debate and the iniciatives of the country.
